Psalm 119 is:
the longest chapter in the Bible
composed of 22 sections, each starting with a letter of the Hebrew alphabet.
Each verse begins with the letter of that section. The structure promoted easy memorization, since the general people did not have a personal copy.
The goal of the chapter is to help us stay pure and to grow in our faith. All but 5 verses mention some form of the Word of God.
1. Obedience gains purity.
“How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to Your word.” (Ps. 119:9)
